In case you were wondering, you can’t take eights weeks off of training because it is so record-breakingly hot you want to throw your body on the nearest glacier and never leave, then get west nile and sleep almost non-stop for three-weeks, and then expect to have any sort of lingering running abilities like speed or endurance.
Whoever said patience is a virtue was not a runner.
Title: Keane – Is it any wonder? 2006.
west nile? yikes!! be well and ease back into life (running can wait)
Wise, as always. Running can wait, but can I?
we’re only here once ( I think ). Running does tend to take over in terms of our self definition, who we are. Time to discover what other dimensions define us. There will always be running.
The universe has sent a small tear in a calf muscle my way … All signs point to spending more time on my new two-wheeled friend before snowfall!
Boy have I been on that journey right now too. I am a RUNNER and I’m NOT RUNNING. arrrrrggggggghhhhh
There is no replacement for running – I hope you are back at it soon!
Thanks! I have been biking and it’s at least keeping me active. I was surprised to find how much crankier I feel when not working out, I hadn’t realized how much I relied on it.
