Hello everybody. That’s my Grover impersonation. Sesame Street’s 40th season is about to begin (the younger sibling, the beloved Canadian Sesame Street of my childhood, is still a 30-something). Even Google is celebrating with muppet-themed doodles. I love nostalgia. Yes, I realize that is a sign of old age. Although I’m not as old as Sesame Street. Or Canadian Sesame Street.
Sesame Street, old school. Just the way I like it.
Sesame Street has a shoe contract? It’s never to early for brand loyalty.
p.s. Who is this Murray?
Running amok. Amok amok amok.
Gordon’s Morning Run. Remember kids, running is really good exercise and it’s fun too. The Chariots of Fire -inspired soundtrack is the perfect touch.
One for the playlist? Maybe I watched too many stranger danger shows growing up, but this guy sounds really creepy when he says come run with me and we’ll have fun.
And because I need to include Grover, the best of all the muppets:
Title Reference: Joe Raposo – Can You Tell Me How To Get To Sesame Street? Sesame Street Theme Song. 1969.
That was fun! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Muppets were new when I was a kid and we found instructions on how to make our own. It required slicing my only ping pong ball in half, which caused me great distress. Seeing this has caused me horrific flashbacks. Thanks a lot.
p.s. NO, you cannot substitute Sesame Street into the Spongebob 30-Week Marathon Training Plan © either. Harumph
Not ever a beginner version of Spongebob 30-Week Marathon Training Plan ©? The Spongebob requirements are demanding for the novice viewer. A Galloway or Stanton modification, breaking up the Spongebob with Sesame Street breaks, could make the program more accessible to a wider running-viewing audience.
p.s. What a sad little image, you, a ping pong table, and no ball. At least you had your puppet for company.
I agree, Grover is the best one
His only competition is Super Grover. Super is pretty cool too.
This inspired me to look up something I vaguely remembered:
Ah, a parody of Born to Run. I knew it existed.
Fantastic. They even included The Big Man
This is exactly why I still, yes stilll, love Sesame Street. Sometimes I think the kid stuff is just a cover — no way they appreciate this skit as much as I do.
I had totally forgotten about those early proddings to get us running. Maybe that’s why I have this urge to run all the time.
If those urges take hold before the age of 4 we are at their mercy forever more. I blame Sesame Street for my cookie addiction.
Near………..far………..NEAR…….far
I can’t believe I forgot near and far. One of my all-time favourite skits. Grover: Okay, I’m not doing anything. Ha.
Awesome…love his frustration!
