What were you doing at mile 26?
November 3, 2009
I haven’t watched The Late Show with David Letterman in years. It’s been so long his show was on a different network and the public didn’t know about his lusty ways with female staff members. Until this clip started circulating amongs runners I had totally forgotten about The Top Ten List. Last night Meb Keflezighi presented the “Top Ten Thoughts That Go Through Your Mind When Running The New York City Marathon” on . Meb won the 2009 New York City Marathon in 2.09.15. Now he’s famous (in some circles) and $170,000 richer. Damn, I need to start running faster. I caught two glimpses of Meb during his Monday press tour - stepping out of his limo at Tavern on the Green and during an interview for NBC (I was on a studio tour at the time of his interview). I’m not one to attach meaning to random encounters, but I think his following me around NYC is a good omen.
The link for the video on CBS, for in case the YouTube clip is shut down.

Loved #1! Okay, tv-junkie, do you watch Modern Family? You’ll love the most recent episode called “run for your wife.” Would you ever “let” the hubby win?

I don’t, but I will seek it out on line. I love when TV and running collide!

I know, it’s my favourite. Although more suited to our local races than NYC. I think that’s one of the few things I didn’t see.
